ABOUT CASPER HALL
Founder of Sound Out Studios, Casper has had a long-standing passion for studio production ever since becoming part of the music world as a drummer back in 2008.
Beginning his music studies at TAFE in 2011 Casper began recording any musical project he was involved in. Any spare time was spent tracking on campus in rehearsal rooms or at home in a tiny 2x3m 'studio' with padded walls and ceiling.
Casper's passion for recording continued over the following years hindered only by lack of a decent studio space and obligations as a drummer and student. In 2015, upon moving into a house with a huge 49m2 downstairs space, Sound Out Studios was born.
Casper holds Certificates 3&4 in music, a Diploma of Music, a bachelor of Contemporary Music Practice from University of Canberra and a post-grad Honours degree in Arts and Design. He aims to hone his skills and form strong industry relationships in order to continue to live off his work in the creative arts.
“I was always that member of the band recording the demos & producing the singles and EP’s for release. Band practice would always be at my place because I was the one with the project studio and the big dream. Fast forward 8 years and Sound Out Studios is turning that dream into reality."
ABOUT THE STUDIO
Setup in the lower level of an unsuspecting 70's style brick home,
Sound Out Studios is an intimate recording studio located in Brisbane's south side.
The main live room is half underground with brick and stone walls making for a very cool quiet space to record in. Thick pine-framed absorbers and suspended acoustic clouds treat the sound well while Persian rugs and warm ambient lighting set the mood just right.
Sound Out is equipped with a 30input/34output system running over thunderbolt. This allows for zero latency monitoring through a suite of WAVE's best plugin emulations of classic outboard gear from API compressors to SSL channel strips.
Digital headphone monitoring allows artists to each tailor their own mix while playing. During sessions several other rooms in the house are often utilised for isolation to allow for live tracking.
Creating music to be proud of is our passion, and we focus on providing a comfortable and inspiring space to capture it at its best.
